Weekly Challenge #1 - Bring My Water Bottle Everywhere

Weekly Challenge #1 is an easy one...well I think so The goal: Bring a reusable water bottle with me everywhere Why: Single use plastics are some of the worst things for the environment, for many reasons.  It is a waste of resources - oil, energy, water, it is hardly ever recycled (and takes energy to do so), and kills animals every day.  Americans throw out 26.76 pounds of plastic bottles per year, and this can be easily prevented.  While all bottled drinks are bad, water is the only one with an easy replacement: tap water.  Tap water is almost always just as clean and tastes just as good.  The challenge is not for me to just avoid using bottled water, but to always bring the reusable bottle with me.  This way I can train myself to have it on me as much as possible. I'm feeling guilty... I know for a fact I'm producing too much trash, wasting too much energy and polluting the earth.  It has to stop, to the best that I can.  I need to do it for the future of earth, for my child, and for my own sake. The more I have read, watched or listened to, the more I realize there is a lot I can do to be better, not perfect, but better and now is the time to do it. This blog is meant to hold myself accountable.  I plan to do weekly challenges that are meant to show me that I can do it.  Throughout the week I'll share some of what I read and researched about the topic, hopefully convincing anyone that actually reads this to join me! At worst, I hope it makes me more accountable and better. Lets see how this goes! Taylor
